Photo Optimisation
Makes your own photo look like an application photo. Neutral background, corrected exposure, cropped to 4.5 by 6 cm. Still recognisably you.
Features
Photo Optimisation works on a photo of you that already exists. Upload it and you get back the application-photo version: background cut out and replaced with neutral light grey, exposure and colour corrected, cropped to the Swiss standard of 4.5 by 6 cm, head and shoulders.
It also comes back small enough to send. Application portals cap uploads, so the file is compressed to fit a 2 MB budget without going blotchy.
What it deliberately does not do is invent a new face. Your photo is edited, not generated, so the person in it is still recognisably you. That distinction matters more than it sounds, and the section below explains why.
How It Works
Take a photo with your phone. Daylight and a calm background make the result better, but a plain snapshot is enough to work with. Upload it, and the editing runs automatically: background, exposure, crop, file size.
A few minutes later you download the finished photo and drop it into your CV. No editing software and no appointment involved.
Who It's For
This is for you if the photo on your CV is the weak part of an otherwise decent application. The deadline is tomorrow and no studio has a slot. Or the picture in there is a cropped holiday photo, and you know it looks like one.
It's also useful if you're applying from Germany into Switzerland, where a photo on the CV is still expected rather than optional. A Swiss studio sitting costs somewhere between 49 and 200 CHF depending on where you go, so 49 CHF for optimising a photo you already have is the cheap end of getting this right.
Why It Matters
We used to sell this as an AI-generated headshot. We changed it, and the reason is worth knowing before you buy. In a Swiss study by Ringover, recruiters picked AI-edited photos over untouched ones in a blind test. But when candidates admitted the photo was made with AI, two thirds were put off, while almost nine in ten said they wanted that disclosure. A generated photo only works as long as you keep quiet about it, and Swiss HR associations are asking for the opposite. We would rather sell you something you can be open about.
So the product optimises instead of generating. jobs.ch draws the line in the same place: a lightly optimised picture is fine as long as it's still recognisably you. And the common mistake in Swiss applications isn't a missing photo, it's the wrong one, the snapshot with the kitchen in the background. Unlike CV Scan, which judges what your application says, this fixes what it looks like at first glance.
